With an array of restaurants, bars, and live music venues, it's no wonder that the Red River Cultural District welcomes thousands of visitors every week.
It spans three blocks and highlights include:
The Mohawk opened in 2006 as a one-of-a-kind bar and venue. It takes inspiration from the Native American culture of the Northeast, and it's home to a diverse creative culture. Happy hour is daily between 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., while live music is offered from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The performers are both touring and up-and-coming Austin artists.
Moonshine Patio & Bar
Moonshine Patio & Bar is known for serving the city's favorite Sunday brunch. It takes visitors back in time as it's housed in a building constructed in 1852, and guests enjoy its charming atmosphere both inside and on the patio. The cooks prepare a variety of meals such as Texas Akaushi Beef Meatloaf, Hill Country Barbecue Baby Back Ribs, and Pan-fried Chicken Almondine.
This restaurant on wheels serves plant-based comfort food in a bistro-style setting. Open until 2:00 a.m., it's popular among those who have late-night cravings. The limited menu includes street tacos, barbecue and amazing burgers.
Christopher "Stubb" Stubblefield served in the Korean War as a Staff Sargent in the 96th Field Artillery. During this time, he perfected his culinary skills as he oversaw the daily meal preparation for up to ten thousand soldiers. When Stubb's returned home, he opened his first restaurant in Lubbock, and later Austin. Menu options include Angus beef brisket sandwiches, pork spare ribs, and pulled pork.
