Nestled on South Congress Avenue, residents of Sur512 can enjoy a variety of restaurants conveniently located on the same street.
Those within ten minutes include:
This cafe was founded in 1979 as Omelettry West. It offered a casual atmosphere and closed each day at 3:00 p.m. In 1987, Kent Cole decided to buy out his business partner and he renamed the restaurant Magnolia Cafe. One year later, he established the location on South Congress, and today it's open 24/7, and guests enjoy friendly service in a laid-back atmosphere. Menu options include Vegetarian Popeye Omelets, Tropical Turkey Tacos, and Newport Chicken Club Sandwiches.
Guero's Taco Bar
Two years after the Central Feed and Seed Store closed its doors, Cathy and Rob Lippincott bought the building to open Guero's Taco Bar. With an electric atmosphere and attentive service, it has become known as the perfect meeting place for family and friends, and guests can enjoy live music in the Oak Garden Wednesday through Sunday nights. Menu options include tasty fajitas, Santa Fe Enchiladas, and El Presidente (named after President Clinton who occasionally enjoys a meal at the restaurant.)
Hopdoddy Burger Bar
According to Hopdoddy's website, it was created to express the perfect union of burgers and beer. Guests can enjoy indoor or outdoor dining, and both areas offer a vibrant atmosphere complete with friendly service and plenty of seating. The all-natural burgers are made with meat ground in-house, and options include Terlingua, Buffalo Bill, and Thunderbird.
