Austin's Outdoor Art Scene

Austin's outdoor art scene embellishes the city with murals and sculptures done by local artists. The creativity is present all over the city, so it's likely you have seen at least one graffiti artwork across town. However, if you're interested in sculpture, you can find museum-worthy pieces not too far from Sur512.

Here are a few of our favorites:

If you love spiders (or don't), you'll be amazed by the giant twenty-three-foot-high female spider sculpture in the Mueller Development at Southwest Greenway. The art display is quite an attraction whether you're a fan of creepy crawlers or not. Go on a sunny day, and you'll appreciate the shine of the glossy blue and turquoise of the spider's young.

As Austin's hidden gem, this sculpture is not noticeable from the road unless you go looking for it. When you arrive at Southwest Greenway, there is plenty of parking on the road. Admission is free, and there is a walking trail if you want some exercise.

Bee Cave Sculpture Park

Enjoy a peaceful walk along a trail with gorgeous artwork at Bee Cave Sculpture Park. The park sits along a pond, where 24 sculptures weave through the natural setting of seven acres of land. Visitors can find unique, contemporary pieces scattered throughout.

The park also offers a spring-fed pond, large oak trees, and amazing wildlife. If you enjoy art and nature, this is the perfect destination.
